0.021 ped per deed, not that it matters, although that was the number.

At least it's more playable now that there're AI pets in the Arena.
I keep spotting bugs. for some reason the film replays have all gone crazy.

I think one of the division unlocks said grant duke instead of grand duke.

Still looking forward to the day we can leave the village on a boat from the residence, and do some other stuff with our pets other than fights. The 3D effect village looks nice, I've just never understood why MA would put to so much effort into building that 3D style village environment, with such little game interaction.

As long as Mindark are still commited to further development, then it could take lots of different directions to make the game popular. Look at it as some foundations laid.

Smiles.....sure I bought 500 at 100 ped each, just $3200 down on paper from $5000. It would take a lot more deeds at 35 peds or so, to average down (is it worth it? I dont know). MA will know the situation is a giant black cloud hanging over them, until they make a success of it. Maybe that means changing their exisiting plans for Compet, who knows.

Whatever MA do though it's got to have "purpose". I sometimes get the feeling in EU that pets are not treated with the same respect MA give weapons. Like continusously dumping tons of super rares on the market, they wouldn't do that with Imp MKII's. It's a shame becasue a lot of people did commit to pets in EU and Compet, I get somewhat annoyed at pets being treated just as cash cows and not items valued with real mythic status.

I am a glass half full person, but there's some serious cracks in my glass these days. MA are paid to worry about what they produce...as I always say "don't worry about what you can't control".

So I wait for MA to make me feel proud of them, and if they don't...their loss, not mine.

Good luck

Rick

edit: Just laughing to myself, how trinkets were supposed to be the saving grace for compet and the golden goose for revenue income. I guess the "main" game earned nothing then, and the trinkets just about next to nothing. ok then.....hahaha.

It is better with AI pets in the Arena though, you can at least get the trinket missions done. MA should be asking the question, why do players stay in EU for 12 hours straight, but not compet. It's not hard, is it to add online longevity content.

Just make uber pets u can only get in compet and import in to entropia... activate the move from one game to other... make most uber pet soul bound and able to switch from one game to other... r.o.i. on deeds will increase overnight....

Make it have as many or more buffs than the summer rings, etc. Make each pet have unique buffs not released yet... lots of potential...

Wow.. that's first time I've heard the expression "soul bound" or "spirit bound" pertaining to an RPG/MMORPG in ages.. gz for that one ;> Maybe I'm just the odd old-school hermit that has only otherwised noticed this term in the old Ultima Online series, circa: (before most of you were born). ;>

I think MA view pets in a very different way than we do (or want to do). MA treat pets in EU as bolt-on items (i.e. an addition to something), rather than a tool or item that does a particular job in its own right. In compet; pets are a weapon, and the trinkets are the bolt-ons buffs.

So that suggests any pet that transfers to EU, drops from being a weapon to a buff. I like to view pets as digital living creatures that are crying out to do certain roles, be that specialist types of mining, digging pecking, or hunting, tagging, fapping, protecting..etc. So athough buffs might be useful in EU, the game appears not to want to class them as anything more that.

In fact the numbers of high end pets MA dump into EU, suggests they don't value them as quality items. I find that quite strange, as MA would be fully aware of the values originally paid for top end pets. It's like the players are saying to MA, "I consider this pet really valuable"...but the the reality is, it isn't at all....smiles.

So until MA see this percieved value and usefullness in pets that the players think "should be there", then everything really lacks a lot of purpose or has limited longevtity. Even if MA give compets pets a weapon skill gain buff, it won't be long before the EU market is saturated with such pets, then that purpose is shortlived.

There was talk a long time ago about pets transfering to compet to level up, although I heard rumours that might be ditched in compet. No one is much of a fan of sacraficing pets to level up anyway.

The other thing I find quite strange is this talk of selling EU stuff or pets to compet. I simply do not see the desire in compet to pay the type of values that players accept in EU. That's mainly due to "purpose" again, the max you can get out of compet is to win the ped pool, if you play with ped. Compet simply does not have enough options to chase a dream, that keeps EU going.

Its not that compet would've have the players, the game needs a reason to "chase the dream" for the players to come in the first place....hahaha. Thats's why I say, that only the foundations have been laid in compet. It somewhat tickles me to be honest, that MA didn't introduce this desire to win something in many different ways that would attract traffic in a Compet RCE environment other than that single PVP ped pool.

Anyway without writing a whole book.....it all comes down yet again to that one word, lack of "purpose".
