Resetting skills

When you use the skill resetting option, it gives you a number of points that can be used/redistributed. The number of points is less than what the pet currently has. Is this the total number of points you get when redistributing? Or is it extra points to add to what you already have?

Is that because you need to take into account the default points the pet had when it was brand new?

I guess the perfect test would be. Write down all points totals before you try a pet reset. Then redistribute all the reset points (without saving) to see if you can get back to the same stats.

How do you get (extra points) XP?

Not extra, earned. You will not lose any Skill Points by resetting, but you will lose the XP you've earned in the pet's current level.

So it is best to reset your skill points shortly after reaching a new level, and not as you're close to leveling up.

I don't know if this is the intention, or if it is a bug.
